Ciara gushes over Russell Wilson and calls him 'the toughest man I know' after his finger surgery

Ciara is standing by her man, Russell Wilson, as the Seattle Seahawks star quarterback recovers following surgery to repair his injured right middle finger.

In fact, the surgery actually repaired two injuries to the finger, which unfortunately is part of his throwing hand, that occurred during his team’s Thursday night game against the Los Angeles Rams.

‘You’re the toughest Man I know. Always dedicated and committed to do whatever it takes,’ the singer, 35, gushed alongside an Instagram photo of herself standing by Wilson’s bedside in the hospital.

‘I love you so much my Sweet King. Thank you Dr Shin and team for taking care of my baby.’

The Texas native ended her post by sharing the hashtags: ‘#3’, Wilson’s uniform number, as well as ‘#RareBreed’ and red heart, biceps, and GOAT emojis.

The Super Bowl champion quarterback responded to his wife’s post by sharing it on his Instagram Story, while calling her ‘my queen’ and professing, ‘I love you so much baby.’

Ciara (born Ciara Princess Harris) gave thanks to Dr. Steven Shin, a Los Angeles-based orthopedic surgeon that specializes in hand surgery, who has previously operated on high-profile athletes like former NFL quarterback Drew Brees, MLB star outfielder with the Angels, Mike Trout, and NBA star Stephen Curry, who plays for the Golden State Warriors.

In that hospital photo, Ciara stood to her husband’s right dressed for casual-comfort in black sweatpants, matching jacket or sweatshirt, and sneakers.

The Promise star had her long raven tresses styled with plenty of volume, natural curls and waves, and a part in the middle.

He simply wrote, ‘Lion Heart,’ in the caption.

Wilson’s injury forced him to miss the fourth quarter of the Seahawks’ game against the Rams. In the end, the Rams, behind quarterback Matthew Stafford’s 365 yards passing, went on to win 26-17.

With the victory Los Angeles is now in second place in the NFC West division with a 4-1 record for the season. And with the loss Seattle now sits in last place in that very same division at 2-3.

According to a statement by the team, Wilson sustained ‘an extensor tendon rupture (mallet finger) and a comminuted fracture-dislocation of the proximal interphalangeal joint.’

He is expected to start therapy this weekend, and Dr. Shin expects the team’s star will return to action with the team later this season at the ‘same world-class level fans have come to expect of one the game’s very best quarterbacks.’
