Coleen Nolan explosively admits she would NOT 'confront a covid liar'

Coleen Nolan has admitted she would lie about coronavirus contact on a plane to avoid facing hotel quarantine – much to her co-stars’ chagrin.

Speaking on Loose Women on Tuesday, the star, 56, branded herself ‘selfish’ for her admission, which saw her state that if she discovered somebody on a plane was positive with the virus, she would not alert staff or fellow passengers.

While discussing what they would do if they learnt a positive case was on their plane, Coleen said: ‘I don’t really wanna tell anyone because when we get off the plane we’re all gonna be put into quarantine… That’s very selfish of me.’

The Loose Women panel discussed what they would do in the hypothetical scenario of learning somebody on their plane had coronavirus.

Although not referenced, the chat comes after an image recently went viral showing a plane passenger typing on their phone with a message reading: ‘We have Covid… shhh. That’s why we’re coming home a day early.’

Speaking about what she would personally do, Coleen said: ‘I would like to think I would confront them but I wouldn’t, I’d be scared. I would like to think I would go up to the airline staff and tell them this person’s got Covid…

‘But the other thing is I don’t really wanna tell anyone cos when we get off the plane we’re all gonna be put into quarantine and I wanna go home.’

She conceded her take on things was very selfish: ‘That’s very selfish of me. Well I would hope on the plane we would all be wearing masks and jabbed. I would just wanna go home and not be quarantined. Just being honest.’

Her confession led to shock from her co-stars, including Janet Street Porter, who responded: ‘I wouldn’t be a crawley creep like Coleen and be selfish…

‘I would go up to the loo and write a note and say the person in seat sixteen c has just sent a message to say they’ve tested positive for covid. Obviously if Coleen was on the plane I’d get her seat number and dob her in’.

The conversation comes in the wake of reports about the Loose Women panel and Coleen’s presence on the show causing ructions.

The Mail on Sunday reported that drama behind the scenes is blighting ITV‘s hit show after a succession of stars had a bust-up with Coleen.

It has been claimed that Nadia Sawalha has told the lunchtime chat show’s producers that she will no longer appear alongside Coleen after the singer’s agent, Melanie Blake, called the actress a ‘nasty witch’ on social media.

It is understood that broadcaster Carol McGiffin has also had a falling-out with Coleen, while panellist Stacey Solomon has informed producers that she does not wish to work with Coleen either when she returns from maternity leave next month.

A source said: ‘Stacey is the latest person refusing to work with Coleen, which is proving really tricky. Everyone loves Stacey, as do the viewers, so nobody wants to upset her.

‘It’s a show that is supposed to promote strong women working together, respecting one another’s views, but it’s currently the case that what is going on behind the scenes is quite the opposite of that and much more dramatic.

‘All of the dynamics and the fallings-out have left the poor producers with such a conundrum. It’s a job in itself getting the panels right, but with these added issues, it’s proving tough.’

Insiders on have accused Coleen, a member of the successful 1980s group The Nolans, of behaving in a ‘high and mighty fashion’ behind the scenes.
