Dilruk Jayasinha WINS immunity pin during premiere of Celebrity MasterChef Australia

Sunday’s premiere episode saw the stars having 90 minutes to impress the judges with a dish they are most famous for, with access to the full pantry.

And comedian Dilruk Jayasinha presented the most standout meal, earning himself an immunity pin for his beef rendang with a coconut rice and onion chilli sambal.

The 36-year-old had some stiff competition with singer Dami Im, fashion designer Collette Dinnigan and radio host Chrissie Swan included in the top four dishes.

Judge Melissa Leong heaped praise on Dilruk, saying of his recipe: ‘This was so delicious. I couldn’t fault it.

‘You have that beautiful sort of floral lemongrass, the galangal, the heat from that. The chilli, the garlic, it’s all there in beautiful quantities and ratios. The meat is absolutely meltingly tender.’
