Jodie Comer reveals filming last scenes for Killing Eve will be 'emotional'

Jodie Comer has revealed that filming the last scenes for Killing Eve will be ’emotional’ as the hit series comes to an end.

Speaking on Wednesday’s This Morning, she told hosts Holly and Phil how she was about to shoot the last two episodes of the fourth and final season.

Jodie stars as the killer Villanelle in the BBC show alongside Sandra Oh and said that she hopes the show will end on a ‘good and satisfying’ note for viewers while not completely ruling out doing a film based on the series.

She said: ‘It’s very surreal, we are just about to start filming the last 2 episodes.

‘We want to end on a good note and on a satisfying note for the audience. It’s been a huge part of all our lives.

‘I feel emotional even thinking about it. I want to take a clapper board with me when we wrap up!’

‘It will be great to end in a way as if you go on and on with a series the quality can fade, but it will be hard to not see those people every day.’

When asked about a potential Killing Eve film she added: ‘I don’t think it’s been spoken about but I don’t know what the future holds!’

Jodie appeared on This Morning alongside fellow Scouse actor Stephen Graham who she stars with in their new drama Help about life in care homes during the pandemic.

In the series Jodie plays carer Sarah, and said of her character: ‘We meet Sarah and she’s at a job interview for the care home and then the pandemic hits and their world gets turned upside down.

‘I spoke to carers around the UK and there is joy and happiness, a care home is a family and that’s what we wanted to capture that.’

She said: ‘It was nice to go back there, my mum cooked for us, we all tried mint sauce. We had Scouser which is a meat and potato stew, we have it every Thursday.’

It was revealed in March that Killing Eve’s much-anticipated fourth season will air on television next year.

It comes after the season three finale drove viewers wild when Villanelle and Eve stood back-to-back on London Bridge and agreed to walk away and ‘never look back’.

However, in the final moments of the episode both Villanelle and Eve turned back around to look at each other – suggesting the two characters might end up together.

The promise of a future relationship delighted fans, who begged for the next series to start with the two characters together.

The episode also tied up loose ends of the series, including revealing Konstantin as Kenny’s apparent killer. Security footage showed Konstantin (Kim Bodnia) arriving at the office and meeting with Kenny (Sean Delaney) hours before his death.

Armed with the footage, Carolyn confronted Konstantin, with Paul (Steve Pemberton), Eve and Villanelle also in attendance.

She came close to killing Konstantin but instead killed Paul, who was working for both MI6 and The Twelve. Konstantin, who had planned to leave to Cuba, left but Villanelle decided not to follow.

The episode also saw Villanelle being rejected by Carolyn after she said she was ready to become an MI6 agent. Carolyn responded: ‘What use are you to me… to anyone?,’ referring to the assassin’s desire not to kill any more.
