Long-haired Liam Hemsworth steps out barefoot in Byron Bay

In December, Liam Hemsworth forked out $6.5million for his gorgeous Byron Bay home.

And earlier this week, the hunky Aussie actor stepped out like a local – sans shoes – to run some errands.

For his casual outing to a nearby café, the 31-year-old donned a pair of black gym shorts and a grey t-shirt.

He smoothed back his long locks with and accessorised with a black backwards trucker cap.

While the hinterland region is amid a lockdown, it appears Liam’s allowed his hair to grow out along with his rugged beard.

It is believed he is spending the period with his model girlfriend Gabriella Brooks.

The two are enjoying a life of leisure on Liam’s 3.87 hectare property situated in the Newrybar hinterland.

According to a report by realestate.com.au, the home of the youngest Hemsworth brother was once a wedding venue.

It boasts five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a sprawling outdoor entertainment area and pool.

The house also has two separate wings built around the swimming pool, tropical gardens and a lawn bowls area.

It can even accommodate three helicopters on the lawn, and is the most expensive property ever sold in Newrybar by over $2million.

In a May 2016 interview with GQ Australia, The Hunger Games star spoke about preferring a quiet lifestyle.

‘I grew up by the beach, surfing, and I’m much more conditioned to that sort of lifestyle… I wanted to get back to the beach, I needed it, to be by the water and to be able to go surfing,’ he said.

Meanwhile, Liam’s older brothers Chris and Luke also own homes in Byron Bay.

After buying his Byron Bay family home for $7million back in 2014, Chris, 37, transformed the sprawling property into a $20million compound.

The Thor actor carried out extensive renovations on the six-bedroom home, and it now boasts a steam room, gym, media room and games room.

There’s also a stunning outdoor living area, play areas for his three young kids and a 50-metre rooftop infinity pool, which overlooks the ocean.

The brothers are also believed to have spent $4.3million on a home for their parents, Craig and Leonie, in neighbouring Suffolk Park.

Meanwhile, Luke, 40, relocated to Byron Bay in late 2019 with his family, leaving behind his home in Malibu.

Residents of Byron Shire, Richmond Valley, Tweed, Lismore, Ballina and Kyogle in far north NSW were forced into a snap lockdown in August.

The move came after a Sydney man, who tested positive for coronavirus, travelled to Byron Bay at the end of July.

According to Byron Shire Mayor Michael Lyon, the man was inspecting property in the area, but didn’t check in with QR codes’.

Unlike Sydney -Byron Bay is classed as regional NSW, so is subject to less strict restrictions.

While Sydneysiders are being told to stay at home, residents in regional areas are still able to have up to five visitors allowed in property at one time.

Masks in regional areas, however, are still compulsory in all indoor non-residential settings and the four-metre rule still applies for indoor and outdoor settings.
