OnlyFans star Renee Gracie is criticised by V8 Supercars organisers over 'publicity stunt' return

OnlyFans star Renee Gracie’s attempts at returning to the racing circuit have been branded by V8 Supercars officials as a ‘publicity stunt’.

Renee, who retired from racing in 2017 to become a full-time porn star, made headlines last month when she announced her plans to buy her own racing team and enter the upcoming Bathurst 1000.

However, on Wednesday, PerthNow reported that Renee’s big announcement has been derided by event organisers, with one official reportedly telling the paper: ‘It’s just a publicity stunt’.

‘She is just using the sport to sell more videos. It is not even worth commenting on because it is not going to happen,’ they added.

Despite the backlash, Renee feels confident that a porn star driver is exactly what the sport needs to enliven its public image.

‘There aren’t too many females that have raced – let alone one that has raced before and done porn,’ she told The Daily Telegraph in August.

At the time, Renee told the Telegraph that she was planning to splash almost $1million on buying her own team, explaining: ‘I get offers every second day to go and race in somebody else’s car.’

Renee said she wanted to keep her own dream alive meaning she was hoping to get a wildcard entry into the Bathurst 1000.

Wildcard entries are given to promising crowd-pleasers or retired racers to help attract more attention to the sport.

Renee later added that she hadn’t been able to watch an entire race for the past year, due to how ‘boring’ the sport has become.

‘I turn it off after a couple of laps because it is repetitive and not much is going on. The sport was much better four or five years ago in terms of action,’ she added.

Renee was part of an all-female team that competed at Bathurst in 2015. Renee also raced with Simona de Silvestro in 2016.

Renee, however, quit racing the following year after saying the hefty expenses of the sport made her have to drop out.

Speaking about her decision to quit Supercars, Renee told Daily Mail Australia in July last year that she ‘just couldn’t afford it anymore’.

‘I had to come up with $600,000 a year to race,’ she said. ‘I had to get my own sponsors and any crashes or scratches I got on the car I had to pay for myself.

‘We had insurance but the excess was so high that the team bosses used to tell me, ‘Don’t crash – but if you do, make sure you write it off.’ Just a minor crash could cost $10,000. It’s a savage sport.’

Renee became an OnlyFans creator in early 2020. In August this year, the sportswoman claimed she’d earned around $10million on the adult entertainment website so far.
