There is something Great British Bake Off contestants set their sights on as well as snatching the win – and that’s a coveted Hollywood Handshake.
And it’s good news for fans of the hit BBC baking competition, as Paul Hollywood‘s signature gesture of congratulations has been trademarked with the intention to emblazon it on ‘hundreds of products.’
A TV insider told The Sun: ‘This isn’t just a reflection of the ongoing popularity of Paul but the continual success story that is the Bake Off.
Venture: Paul Hollywood’s coveted handshake has been trademarked by Great British Bake Off bosses – with plans to emblazon it on ‘hundreds of products’
‘It launched in 2010 but 12 years later, it’s still going strong and the creators, Love Productions, are still growing the brand.
‘This is just another ingenious offshoot which is sure to go down well with fans of the show and among the army of Paul’s fans.’
The business venture could see the famed handshake wind up on items ranging from kitchen utensils to children’s clothes and toys.

Love Productions has been behind a series spin-off shows, including celebrity specials to a programme specifically catering for younger bakers.
Other fan favourites have also been curated off the back of the GBBO, namely The Great British Sewing Bee and The Great Pottery Throw Down.

It comes after it was revealed that Mary Berry was attacked by bed bugs after being put up in budget accommodation by the BBC while judging The Great British Bake Off in its earlier seasons.
The TV presenter, 86, was booked into a £25-a-night hostel during the early days of the series where she was exposed to the insects who feed on human blood.
Speaking to the Full Disclosure podcast, Sue Perkins told how the show is seen as the huge success it is now, but the beginning stages were quite different.
She said: ‘Bake Off can only be seen now through the prism of huge success.
Ouch: It comes after it was revealed that Mary Berry was attacked by bed bugs after being put up in budget accommodation by the BBC while taking part in The Great British Bake Off
‘But we were there at its inception, when Barry’s burger vans were the in-house catering, when we were in a youth hostel at £25 a night — and Mary Berry got bed bugs.
‘We were a travelling show and the team had to put the tent up. But it evolved hugely from the intense documentary about foodstuffs into the beloved programme it is now.
‘We had a make-up artist who painted a mulberry, purple sort of colour lipstick on me in one series.
‘I looked like I’d been dragged from a riverbank, I looked like a mottled corpse on Casualty.
‘Bake Off started making people cry. That’s our only contribution and it seems like a very simple one, but if it had the effect then I’m very happy with it.’
The BBC declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline.
Mary turned down a huge pay rise to stay with the baking show after it switched networks from BBC One to Channel 4 after seven years.
Her loyalty in remaining with the BBC has certainly paid off, with Mary fronting a number of shows for the station including Mary Berry’s Simple Home Comforts, Mary Berry Everyday and Mary Berry’s Country House Secrets.
