Late Wildlife Warrior and Australian icon Steve Irwin tragically died on September 4, 2006, after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb while filming a documentary on the Batt Reef, in Queensland

And now, years after his death, a quote from the late personality is going viral on Reddit

Steve appeared on Australia’s 60 Minutes shortly before his death and gave an inspiring quote about money and humanity.

Steve said he loves to use money not for greed purposes, but to help wildlife and in affect, save the world.  

‘I’ve been put on this planet to protect wildlife and wilderness areas, which in essence is going to help humanity,’ Steve began.

‘I want to have the purest of oceans. I want to be able to drink water straight out of that creak… I want to save the world.’

'And you know money, money's great. I can't get enough money and you know what I'm going to do with it? I'm going to buy wilderness areas with it. Every single cent I get goes into conservation,' he said

Steve, affectionately dubbed the Crocodile Hunter by fans, tragically died in September 2006 while filming a nature documentary in Queensland. 

Since then, his family, including wife Terri Irwin, daughter Bindi and son Robert have vowed to carry on his legacy and continue his work in conservation through Australia Zoo.

Back in 2019, Bindi, now 23, spoke about her late father’s legacy on the Today Extra. 

‘He was the greatest Wildlife Warrior to have ever lived,’ Bindi said at the time.

‘He dedicated his whole life to protecting wildlife and wild places.  

‘And I think that it’s really special that in this day we can all remember that khaki is not just a colour, it’s an attitude,’ she said in reference to their Australia Zoo khaki uniforms.

‘And to remember the greatest dad on the planet and a wonderful conservationist.’
