American heavyweight rapper, Robert Rihmeek Williams, popularly known as Meek Mill, has apologized for shooting a video in the Ghanaian Presidential Villa.

The Philadelphia-born rapper, who was a headline performer at the 2022 Afro Nation, which was held between December 29th and December 30th, 2022, at Marine Drive, Black Star Square, Accra, Ghana, had a great time in the Gold Coast, meeting the President as well.

However, the rapper faced backlash last weekend after he posted a video that was filmed at the Jubilee House governmental building, which serves as both Ghana’s official residence and office for the president.

“My apologies to the people if any disrespect! We still gonna push to make the connection between black people in America and Africa…what I’m trying to do is more than a video and you should see coming soon! My apologies to the the office also!

“To the people of Ghana no video I drop is ever meant to disrespect the people of Ghana …. The fastest way to make a connection is thru music and I wanted to do that with displaying art … im in my 30’s from America and didn’t know much about the lifestyle here.”

He admitted that officials for Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo, were not aware that he was filming. He has since removed the video from his social media channels.
