Hulu releases trailer for ‘Rap Trap: Hip-Hop On Trial’ taking a deep dive into how lyrics in the YSL case are being used against Young Thug & Gunna.
Almost a year ago Young and Gunna were arrested as part of a 56-count indictment alleging YSL was a gang and not a record label. Since Thug, Gunna, and 26 others were arrested they have maintained their innocence and most have not backtracked on YSL being a label. Anyone who changed course on that statement did so in exchange for their freedom, most sensible people get it. The bigger picture has been the idea of using rap lyrics to prosecute rappers, unlike other genres. After all, Johnny Cash nor any heavy metal band has ever faced these issues. In a new documentary, Hulu will focus on this in depth.
