LAPO rewards 452 employees

The Lift Above Poverty Organisation has rewarded 452 staff for their loyalty and excellent performance over the years.

During the award ceremony which took place in Benin, Edo State, on Thursday, LAPO recognised staff that had completed between 10 and 30 years of meritorious service across the organisation. They were rewarded with cash, gifts and certificates.

Also, 39 personnel who distinguished themselves in 2022 were honoured with performance-based awards and capped with automatic promotion, while 11 branches that emerged top in field operation got the best branch award.

The Founder/Chief Executive Officer of LAPO, Dr Godwin Ehigiamusoe, said it was a known fact that the most important resource in the organisation was its personnel.

He said his firm had been fortunate to have dedicated staff with a good disposition and an incomparable commitment to the success of the organisation.

Ehigiamusoe that the growth of the company would have been impracticable without a body of diligent and committed staff.

He added, “With the commitment of the staff, the company has grown into a number of institutions that have become major players in different sectors of the economy, all operating in various ways to address macroeconomic challenges.

“Today, institutions within the LAPO ecosystem provide lift-transforming opportunities and services to millions of people in Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

“We as a body are proud that we enable many people to improve the living condition of members of their household. With a full staff of 10, 214, we have contributed to addressing the challenges of unemployment. In 2022, financial institutions in the LAPO group disturbed N221.7 billion as loans to clients,” he added.”

The President of LAPO Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Lilian Ehigiamusoe, said the event was to celebrate hardworking and outstanding colleagues who had dedicated themselves over the years to the growth of the institution.

She commended Hope Ogbe, who had served the company for 30 years, Faith Osazuwa-Ojo, Agnes Olenlua, Joy Osakha-Igbinosa and Eunice Asemota who had all spent 25 years in the company.

The Edo State First Lady, Betsy Obaseki, who was represented by Dr Bridget Okoeguala, commended the CEO of the company for his vision.
