Afrobeats Superstar, Davido, has broken silence after facing backlash for his comment referring to Grammy-winner, Burna Boy as a ‘new cat’ in the industry.
Davido, on Thursday, expressed his thoughts on the array of stars in the Nigerian music industry, noting that he and fellow act Wizkid were the first young Nigerian artists to become famous.
The ‘Unavailable’ crooner continued mentioning Burna, alongside Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun, and Asake, and tagging them as ‘new cats’, a term many believe to represent up-and-coming artists.
This caused controversy and sharing of divergent views on social media, with many fans lambasting him.
Hours after, his lawyer, Prince, via Instagram story, shared a video of him and Davido on the road, heading for an event sponsored by Martell.
In the clip, Davido admitted that everywhere was heated up, but he added that things will cool down and everyone would be fine eventually.
Another part of the clip shows them partying hard at the Martell event, without any care of worry about the outside world.
