27-year-old Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci and her best friend, Ama Reginald have sparked reactions after been spotted in an emotional video, crying and laughing simultaneously, just moments after the Guinness World Records officially crowned the Chef as the new record holder for the longest cooking by an individual.
Speaking on a very emotional video call, Ama Reginald joined Hilda Baci to shed tears of joy, they wiped away their tears together before proceeding to laugh out loud at the same time, with tears still in their eyes.
Sharing the video of the emotional moment on Instagram, Ama Reginald captioned:
“God did!!! ? ? ? My chest is paining me!!! God!!! Congratulations @hildabaci God did!!!.”
The GWR made the announcement on Tuesday morning, June 11, declaring Hilda Baci as the new record holder for longest cooking time in the world.
The statement on its website, read:
“Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.”
The Nigerian chef began her ‘cook-a-thon’ on Thursday 11 May and continued through to Monday 15 May, cooking over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stint.
Hilda Baci attempted to set a record of 100 hours, however, almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.
