Trod, Nigerian singer and Dagrin’s brother, has refuted claims of “siphoning” royalties of late rapper’s music.
Recall, Dagrin died 13 years ago, on April 22, 2010, after being involved in an auto accident.
A recent video of Dagrin’s mother, who happens to be Trod’s stepmom, crying out to Nigerians for financial assistance, triggered speculations online about Trod getting paid and enjoying royalties from Dagrin’s songs secretly while his family is suffering.
In response to the allegation, Trod, via his official Twitter page, said he knows nothing about the royalties and he challenged (DMCE) Digital Music and Commerce Exchange Limited, who has been receiving the royalties since 2010 to make themselves known.
Trod, sharing screenshot of Dagrin’s songs on a streaming platform, tweeted;
“I dunno shiit about Grins Royalties ..The person who has been getting paid for 13 years should come out. DMCE whatever?!”
