Chef Mohammad Baydoun, popularly known as Amazing Chef, has disclosed the reasons behind his relocation from Lebanon, his country of origin, to pursue his culinary career in Nigeria.
The accomplished restaurateur, in an interview with The Guardian, stated that his relocation to Nigeria, specifically Lagos, was prompted by a job offer he received.
He expressed his fondness for the dynamic atmosphere and the country itself, reiterating his confidence in being able to align with the vibrant energy of Nigerians.
His words;
“I moved to Lagos because I got a job offer. I like the vibe and the country. It has this amazing vibe and I have what it takes to match the energy”.
Speaking on why he enjoys working in Nigeria, he highlighted the country’s favorable conditions such as rich soil, clean air, and quality water, which contribute to the growth of exceptional fruits and vegetables.
Amazing chef mentioned the availability of remarkable meats, further emphasizing the abundance of quality ingredients that enhance his culinary endeavors.

“I like to work in Nigeria because it has good soil, air and water which helps to grow amazing fruit and vegetables and they also have amazing meats,”
Renowned as ‘Amazing Chef’ on social media, he relocated to Nigeria in 2018 and swiftly developed a fondness for Amala, Gbegiri, and Ewedu.
His love for these traditional Nigerian dishes grew when he witnessed an elderly lady expertly preparing them from scratch during his attendance at a Lagos party (Owambe).
