Recently, Islamic Cleric, Abu Sufyaan, expressed his disapproval on social media regarding actors taking on cross-gender roles in the nigerian film industry.

Referring to Lateef Adedimeji as a case in point, Abu Sufyaan, during his sermon, voiced his reservations about the actor acting like a woman in movies, considering it “forbidden by God and the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).”

According to him, Lateef Adedimeji and some of his colleagues adopt these feminine roles merely to garner a significant number of views and likes on their social media platforms.

He contended that such representations blatantly flout the teachings of God and the principles of Islamic law.
