The news that American artist Rihanna and her boyfriend ASAP Rocky gave their second kid a unique name has set social media ablaze.
According to the US entertainment website TMZ, the couple welcomed their second kid, a baby boy, in early August and have officially disclosed the name for their second son, ‘Riot Rose Mayers’.
Riot was born on August 1, 2023, at 7.41 a.m. at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, according to the birth certificate obtained by The Blast, who originally revealed the child’s name.
The parents called their child Riot, following a naming tradition that favors the letter “R.” His name is thought to be a reference to A$AP Rocky’s recent song Riot, which featured Pharrell Williams.
As expected, the child’s odd name has sparked a lot of discussion on social media.
