Be thorough with the investigation into Mohbad’s death

  • In his ongoing probe into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, Banky W has encouraged the police to exhaust all possible leads
  • Banky also noted that there should be procedures put in place to protect people against bully

Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W, has commented on the tragic death of Nigerian street pop musician Mohbad, alias Imole.

During an interview with BBC Pidgin, he expressed his sadness at the singer’s inexplicable death.

Banky emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation for the sake of everyone concerned.

He said:

The story of Mohbad’s death is a heartbreaking and sad one, it was terrible what happened to him. There have been two things on my mind, number one his death and honestly they need to conduct a proper investigation for the sake of his wife, his son, fans and associates. I heard that the governor has brought the DSS into the investigation but they should be thorough with their investigation because the world is watching.”

In order to prevent people from drawing hasty judgments on social media in a panic, the singer/actor/politician emphasized the importance of thorough investigations.

He then pleaded with the authorities to investigate both the circumstances of his death and the abuse he suffered while he was still alive.

They need to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death and find out what happened. We are all watching closely so it won’t be as though we are all jumping to conclusions, so the investigation is key to finding out the truth about what killed him. It has been a long time since I left the music industry but seeing the way this story has unfolded the past week has been very heartbreaking. Number two the living hell he went through while he was alive because there is no reason under the sun that he had to go through that bullying and intimidation without a hiding place” he added

In addition, Banky suggested that safeguards be put in place to ensure that bullies are aware that their actions will have repercussions. Sad to say, Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, and was buried the next day. Considering his untimely death and the abuse he received from his previous label.

Following his passing, there was a widespread clamor for an investigation into his death. Soon after, the police responded to the call and began their inquiry. On September 21, 2023, his body was exhumed so that an autopsy could be performed. The public is now waiting for the results.
