- Yul Edochie has aired his grievances about the rampant envy within the Igbo community.
- In a post on his social media platform, the ex-presidential hopeful raised a perplexing question about the reason for this simmering animosity.
Renowned Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has boldly spoken out about the excessive green-eyed monsters and envious souls among the Igbo community.
Edochie made this assertion in a post on his verified Facebook page on a Wednesday.
In his view, when an Igbo individual is making strides in their endeavors, their most formidable adversary often hails from their very own Igbo kin.
The movie star proudly rooted in the Igbo culture of Anambra State, drove home the point that for a prosperous Igbo gentleman, the most formidable enemy could be none other than their own flesh and blood.
He issued a heartfelt plea to his fellow Igbo compatriots, urging them to turn over a new leaf and rise to the occasion, beseeching them to put a halt to the green-eyed envy and cutthroat competition.
“Too much jealousy and envy amongst Igbos. Why??
If you’re doing well as an Igbo person, your biggest hater is your fellow Igbo person. Sometimes even your family members. Igbos we need to do better. Why?
“We’re great. Stop the envy. Stop the competition. Things change when we address them,” He wrote.

This is coming few days after Yul made waves online after posting a photo of his latest customised gold chain with his anime and that of his second wife, Judy Austin on it.
The Nollywood star shared a picture of a gold necklace with his and Judy’s names boldly engraved on it.
The couple’s chains read: “Isi Mmili Ji Ofor” for the man and “Judy Austin” for the woman.
The filmmaker thanked the jeweller in his caption, saying:
“Gift from @glow_jewelss, thank you, my guy. More blessings in your business.”
However, their fans criticised the couple’s token of love and wondered why Judy Austin hadn’t included Yul Edochie’s surname on her necklace.
