Nigerian Afrobeats singer Davido, along with his legal team, has reportedly reached a consensus to pay at least half of the money owed to Abu Salami, a businessman who alleged that he had paid the singer a substantial sum of N218 million for a project involving children.

This revelation came to light through an anonymous journalist who shared the update on social media.

The dispute began when Abu Salami, also known as Abusalami on Instagram, accused Davido of reneging on their agreement and failing to fulfill his part of the project, despite receiving a significant payment.

According to Abu Salami, he had entrusted Davido with the sum of N218 million as part of a N326 million project intended to make a positive impact on children.

The ambitious project involved flying to twenty different states with an eleven-person production crew in search of young and talented football players exclusively for the benefit of children.

However, the project allegedly fell through, leading to Abusalami demanding the return of his investment and accusing Davido of harassment through his legal representatives.

In a recent update shared on social media, a Twitter blogger disclosed that an agreement has been reached between Abu Salami and Davido, stipulating that at least half of the N218 million will be refunded to Abu Salami after formalizing the necessary paperwork.

The post reads;

“Just as @PIDOMNIGERIA had advised, I am happy to announce to you all that in the past few hours there have been some positive backdoor channel negotiations/settlement arrangements between Abu Salami and Davido’s camp.”

A friend of both parties is mediating for a peaceful resolution to this issue. Abu will be refunded at least half of his money back by Davido after some paperwork. Hoping for closure before the day runs out.”
