Nigerian actor and comedian Oluwaseyitan Aletile, professionally known as Seyi Law, and actress, Ada Karl among other Nigerians have reacted to reports of the proposed procurement of a N5 billion presidential yacht.

Seyi Law who has been a staunch supporter of the President berated Bola Tinubu’s administration, stating that it is insensitive.

There are unconfirmed reports that part of the expenditures proposed in the 2023 supplementary budget the President submitted to the National Assembly for approval includes a proposal to spend N5.095 billion on a presidential yacht.

Reacting via his X handle, Seyi Law said the proposal was “insensitive to the plight of Nigerians.”

He called on the president to reverse the decision.

The comedian wrote:

“I am absolutely not in support of the procurement of the presidential yacht. It is quite insensitive to the plight of Nigerians at this moment to even rationalise it. I call on the president, @officialABAT, to once again prove to Nigerians that he listens. Thank you, your Excellency.”

Ada Karl on her part wrote: “Very low budget. Good or bad.”

Recall Seyi Law had months ago declared his full support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, even before the latter became president.

According to Seyi Law, he would be voting for Tinubu ahead of PDP’s Atiku and Labour Party’s Peter Obi because Tinubu has brought a lot of development to Lagos State and it can’t be overlooked.

Seyi Law wrote,

“We can pretend, refuse to accept it and even deny it, but what Tinubu did to rebuild Lagos after the military era can never be overstated. You can use other metrics I don’t know to judge him, but to deny his works in Lagos as governor and the continuity is plain hatred.

If I was paid to campaign for ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU, let God judge me. I have always maintained my stance that I will never receive money to campaign for any politician and that I have always kept. This coming election, BAT is my candidate.”

His declaration received heavy backlash as many dragged him for his support.

Following Tinubu’s victory in the election, Seyi Law tendered an apology to all that he might have offended with his immense support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
