- Bambam has opened up on her difficulties through the journey called motherhood.
- She revealed that amongst other things, motherhood came with postpartum depression, skin tags and extra weight.
- Bambam said she was able to pull through the shock, thanks to her husband’s support.
Big Brother Naija reality star Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, better known as Bambam, has revealed that she went through postpartum depression after the birth of her first child.
Bambam revealed this in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo while recounting her ordeal of being pregnant for the first and second time and adding weight. In her words:
“Motherhood did a number on me. I would never have imagined that my body was gonna get this thick, I look in front of the mirror sometimes, thank God for supportive husbands like mine because imagine I had a man whose spec was a spec and wasn’t open to the transition phases that I went through with each pregnancy.
“My second pregnancy was even more merciful than the first, Zendaya, I transformed, like I went from maroon to black, I had skin tags I had acne breakout, like my body changed, I was in shock, I went through postpartum depression, I was a mess, I didn’t understand I couldn’t fit into my clothes, so I transformed literally.”
Bambam also revealed she had several complications during the pregnancy and at some point she thought her baby was not going to make it but the hospital was diligent.
Bambam and her husband Teddy A announced the birth of their second child, Akorede Maya in an Instagram post in March 2022.
The reality stars earlier revealed they were expecting their second child in February 2022.
The couple welcomed Zendeya their first child in March 2020.
Teddy A and BamBam met in the Big Brother house during the third season of the reality TV show. Although they had their traditional wedding in Ogun State, the star-studded white wedding was held in Dubai in November 2019.
The duo are blessed with two daughters.
