Cardi B in an Instagram live, announced her separation from her husband Offset after six years of marriage.
The Grammy-winning rapper confirmed the news, leaving fans and followers stunned as they had been accustomed to seeing the couple’s vibrant and seemingly in a solid relationship.
Just a few days have passed since the pair unfollowed one another on Instagram before this confirmation.
“I’ve been single for a minute now. But I’ve been afraid…not afraid, I just don’t know how to tell the world.
“The last time I went on Live, I kinda wanted to tell you guys, but I didn’t know how to tell you so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now”she said.
She added that she is looking forward to starting the new year on a fresh slate, Cardi B stated that she is curious for the new life ahead of her.
“I want to start 2024 fresh…open. I don’t know. I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning,” she said.
Before hand, Cardi B had shared a mysterious posts on her Instagram stories last week that emphasized self-love, putting herself first, and getting rid of unnecessary baggage.
“Career-wise and financially and personal life, I know where I wanna be at next year. You know what I’m saying? You gotta rid of dead weight.
“…and when it comes to dead weight … I’ll say mentality, procrastination, laziness and people. A lot of people are dead weight, too, Next year is gonna be all about me” she said.
Last week, she also made hints that she was done with the relationship and was sick of having to save other people’s sentiments.
“You know when you just out grow relationships.” she said. “I’m tired of protecting people’s feelings…I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST”.
