Drama as Wizkid loses his cool, deals with fan assaulting others during his return to Surulere

Afrobeats sensation WizKid recently reached his boiling point as a fan, amidst a large welcoming crowd in Surulere, resorted to physical assault against fellow fans.

Recall that the music star made headlines after he made public his plans to give out N100 million to Children for Christmas in honour of his late mother, Jane Morayo Balogun.

In a bold move to jumpstart the distribution, he hit the streets with his posse, stood on his car as an adoring crowd surrounded him, sang his praises.

Amidst the uproarious crowd, a zealous fan was spotted physically assaulting others, caught WizKid’s attention.

Without skipping a beat, WizKid marched straight to the troublemaker, giving him a piece of his mind about laying hands on others. The fan called off his assault, and the music star seamlessly resumed rallying the ecstatic crowd.

The singer was earlier seen, in viral video, walking down the street of Surulere, without wearing a shirt as he was trying to make a call. He was followed by security men who were there to protect him. 

Money Gee, the guy who honoured Wizkid with a song and got N20million from the singer was reportedly seen in the video controlling the crowd that was following the singer.

Wizkid’s sister was also present at the place to support his brother. The singer was seen as he climbed a jeep to avoid being harassed by the crowd.

He was also spotted in a popular slum area called Makoko. In one video, drums were heard being played as adults and children gathered around their balconies to catch a glimpse of Wizkid while singing to welcome him to their community.

In another viral clip, a large crowd was seen scrambling to get crisp naira notes after Wizkid threw bundles of cash into the air.
