Mavin Records artiste, Charles Chibueze Chukwu aka Crayon, has said his debut album, ‘Trench To Triumph’ is a representation of his true-life experience.

Telling his story, Crayon revealed that his mother sold fruits for a living in Orile, Lagos state and they lived in a face-me-I-face-you apartment with nine people in a room.

The 23-year-old said ‘Trench To Triumph’ follows his success story from when he was living in the ghetto with his family in a low-income neighbourhood to getting signed by music executive, Don Jazzy.

The ‘Ngozi’ crooner spoke in a recent interview with Glitch Africa, noting that he is happy about life because everything is good and amazing.

Crayon said;

“Trench To Triumph album is my story. It’s my reality. It’s my substance. It’s everything I am today. From where I came from; being born in Orile, staying in a face-me-I-face-you apartment with nine people in a room. You open your door, you see people fighting.

“My mum used to sell fruits at Iyana-Iba for 19 straight years. It [‘Trench To Triumph’] is my story. It’s my substance. It’s my reality. It’s everything to me. Now, I’m in my triumphant era. I’m happy about life. Life is going good. Everything is amazing.”

Still on grass to grace stories, ace Nigerian singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, also known as Iyanya, revealed that his colleague, KCee accommodated him when he first moved to Lagos.

He revealed this during an interview with Naija FM 102.7, explaining that Kcee allowed him to stay under his roof for two years.

The ‘Kukere’ crooner revealed that it was the Limpopo hit maker that bought him his first flight ticket from Cross River to Lagos state.
