  • Fresh off the heels of their Grammy near-miss, Nigerian music stars, Davido and Ayra Starr set tongues wagging with a brand-new video capturing their meet-up.
  • Ayra was spotted exchanging swift pleasantries with her seasoned colleague at a laid-back hotspot, set off a flurry of reactions from fans itching to dish out their spicy observations.

In a latest buzzworthy clip, the Afrobeats maestro David Adeleke, better known as Davido shared a heartening exchange with talented songstress Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, aka Ayra Starr.

In her trademark chic blouse, Ayra Starr casually approached the OBO Crooner, who was surrounded by his entourage in a relaxed setting.

Catching sight of her, the DMW Boss stood up, and they exchanged a quick handshake.

The Mavin Star, full of smiles, then departed with her crew.

The new clip sparked varied reactions from fans. While some criticized Ayra Starr for daring to shake Davido’s hand, others couldn’t contain their excitement, swooning over the delightful encounter between the two.

This is coming few weeks after Davido and Ayra Starr alongside Burna Boy, Asake, Tems, Olamide others lost all categories nominated for the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Burna Boy, who bagged four nominations, was joined by Davido, who earned three nominations in his debut.

Asake, Arya Starr, and Olamide got one nomination apiece.

They were all nominated in the maiden Best African Music Performance category alongside South Africa’s Tyla.

During the Grammy Award Premiere Ceremony at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles,  South African singer, Tyla, won the award for the Best African Music Performance category at the 2024 Grammys.

She beats David Adeleke, aka Davido; Ahmed Ololade, aka Asake; and Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy.

Tyla’s ‘Water’ saw off songs by Davido’s ‘Unavailable,’ Asake’s ‘Amapiano,’ Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys,’ and Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush.’
