  • Fireboy DML reveals plans to join the movie industry this year in a recent interview with Billboard news.
  • He stated that he had showcased a bit of his talent in some of his music videos but is now set to make his major acting debut this year.

Nigerian singer, Adedamola Adefolahan, popularly known as Fireboy has revealed his intention to venture into the movie industry.

He claimed he made the audacious move because people frequently commend him on how very dramatic he is.

The singer announced that although he had shown off a little bit of his acting prowess in few of his music videos, he will be making a significant acting breakthrough this year.

Fireboy recently revealed in an interview with Billboard News that he will be releasing an album this year.

He said:

“I am excited to share with the fans that I am releasing my album this year. I am finishing up the album here in LA. I’ve got an apartment with a pool. I want to be in an environment that reeks of happiness, peace of mind, and comfort. And that’s what I want the album to sound like.

“I am also going into the movie industry. Yeah, I am going to be acting. My people have always said that I am a dramatic young man. I mean, I know being dramatic does not equate to knowing how to act but I do know how to act. I have acted in a couple of music videos. I can’t let this gift [acting talent] waste.”

Few months ago, Fireboy opened up on why 2023 has been quiet for him musically .

Recall that Fireboy had an impressive global run between 2021 and 2022 following the release of his hit song ‘Peru’ and a remix version of the song with British superstar, Ed Sheeran.

On why he has been quiet, Fireboy stated that he had to step back majorly for the need to grow. His words:

“…this year is one of those years where it’s necessary for artiste to grow and step down from all the craziness”
