Social media has been set abuzz with mixed reactions when Nigerian gospel singer Theophilus Sunday recently announced his engagement.

Theophilus Sunday shared his engagement news on Instagram, posting lovely photos of himself and his fiancee looking dapper in white.

Captioning the post, he wrote: “As It pleases the Lord.”

Additionally, he tagged Ashley White, his Jamaican fiancee on the post.

There have been many Congratulatory remarks, but some other online users have also brought up the fact that his wife is Jamaican.

Many were surprised and curious about how Nigerian men are leaving Nigerian women for women from another country.

In reaction, One Raleigh Love wrote: “Why are our men leaving us? Wetin happens to Naija girls.”

Theophilus Sunday isn’t the first Nigerian gospel artist to find love in the sight of a foreign woman, few weeks ago, singer Moses Bliss officially tied the knot with his Ghanaian wife.

The couple who have been shutting down social media since the news of their engagement broke out, are currently holding their white wedding in Ghana.

Some videos have been circulating from the beautiful wedding ceremony, which is shutting down both Ghana and Nigeria, with many celebrities in attendance.

In one video, Marie Wiseborn could be seen walking down the aisle with her father by her side, while her husband looked smitten by her.

In another, the couple were pronounced husband and wife by the pastor as they held hands together and came down the aisle.
