Popular Nigerian Afrobeats singer , David Adeleke, well known as Davido recently opened up about his love story, sharing the details of how he met his wife long before achieving fame and fortune.
The singer, revealed that his relationship with his wife transcends material wealth, as they fell in love during a simpler time when financial success was not yet in the picture.
Davido stated that it would have been difficult for him to get married if he had met her when he was already made because he would feel every woman wants to get close to him because of his money.
He stated that it makes him happy knowing that his inner circle mostly consist of people who have always been with him before fame and wealth.
In his words:
“I have a friend, anytime I am on the phone with my wife, he would say he has everything in the world, but a wife is what he is missing.
I met my wife before I had money, but I was telling myself if I didn’t meet her before then and now I am single, and I meet a girl, it wouldn’t be the same. I would feel the lady is talking to me because I am Davido and I have money. My own success is when I see people around who were there when I had nothing and they see me now, that’s the feeling, not like when you blow up and start hanging out with a new set of people. You need to keep the people that were there with you since grinding”.

Davido boasted about his wife being the best chef while hosting prominent American content producer Kai Cenat, who is in Nigeria for a documentary.
He wished that his wife, Chef Chi was in the country to take the American content expert on a culinary adventure.
