Renowned Nigerian actress and filmmaker, Ruth Kadiri, has shared a heartfelt narrative detailing the emotional ordeal she, alongside her colleagues Regina Daniels and her mother Rita Daniels, as well as other prominent movie stars, endured at the hospital, fought tirelessly to save Junior Pope.

Junior Pope was reported to be travelling by boat away from a film set during the shooting of a movie titled, ‘The other side of Life,’ directed by Adanma Luke.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Ruth Kadiri disclosed that she, along with AGN president Emeka Rollas, Regina Daniels, Regina Daniels’ mum, Rita, and several other prominent movie stars, maintained a vigil at the hospital until the early hours of the morning, desperately hoping for any possibility of saving Junior Pope.

Ruth wrote;

“Special thanks to @emekarollas our president @regina.daniels @vivyan.gabriel and Regina’s mum! You where at the hospital at 2/3 am trying to see if anything can be done! Fighting for the last chance to save JP! God sees your hearts… sadly his journey ends here. ???? God help us all.”

Ruth Kadiri cautioned against pointing fingers at anyone in the aftermath of Junior Pope’s tragic demise. She stressed that all filmmakers, by the nature of their profession, willingly take on risks in pursuit of their craft.

She continued;,

“My heart is broken… as producers, as filmmakers we all are Guilty of taking certain risks for this job! Infact getting home at 3am is almost a norm in this business… I cannot throw stones, I cannot as ask why! ???? this is a call to reminder that passion doesn’t save lives… JP! May God receive your soul! And grant your family the heart to bear the loss!”
