Recent weeks have been marked by a series of tragic events in the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood, as veteran actor Ogunjimi from the Yoruba film scene sadly became part of the list.

Actor Kunle Afod shared the heartbreaking news on Friday, April 26, revealing the passing of Ogunjimi, known by his real name, Ganiyu Oyeyemi.

Mourning the actor, Afod wrote, “We tried our best but God loves you more.

“May his soul rest in peace. Baba Ogunjinmi, RIP, Sun re oooo.”

Yoruba Actress Sola Kosoko was spotted in the comment section, expressing her heartfelt condolences.

As of the time of writing this report, the cause of Ogunjimi’s death has not yet been determined or disclosed.

Veteran Yoruba actor, Ogunjimi is dead

The deceased was famous for his fierce role, especially as a warlord in the Yoruba movie. He is popular for his roles as a wizard when the movie involves the act of witchcraft.

Ogunjimi was classed into the categories of Abija, Lalude, Fadeye, and Dagunro, known for their roles as traditional herbalists in movies.

Ogunjimi’s demise is coming hours after the news of the death of another veteran Nollywood actor, Zulu Adigwe, surfaced on social media on Tuesday.

Adigwe’s death was announced by a movie producer, Stanley Nwoko, in a post on his Instagram page .

Mourning the actor, Nwoko wrote, “Rest in peace, good actor.”

Adigwe’s death is coming two weeks after Junior Pope and three other Nollywood actors died in a boat accident in Anam River
