Popular Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti revealed some information on his marriage and his views on monogamy that may seem odd in a conservative society like Nigeria.

On the Bahd and Boujee podcast with Moet Abebe and TolaniBaj, Seun Kuti revealed that he has always been a polyamorous kind of person, and that he doesn’t believe in monogamy.

The clearly confused interviewer then asked him about the nature of his currently monogamous relationship with his wife, Yetunde Kuti and his response was simply shocking.

Seun Kuti said that although his marriage is monogamous, he still explores other ‘options’ outside his marital home.

He said that his wife is unable to fulfill his needs, nor connect with him on a political level, and he emphasized that he wouldn’t want to force his preferences on her.

In the same breath, Seun Kuti said that his wife does whatever she wants, and that she doesn’t do anything for his sake, unless she really wants to do it.

The afrobeats musician also stated that he has explored threesomes with his wife, which is quite unexpected, because it’s not something that is often spoken about in public.
