Will Stevens reveals his favourite Nigerian Afrobeats artiste

  • Will Steven was asked to name his favourite Afrobeats artiste and without hesitation, he mentioned Tems.
  • He also said that said aside from Tems, he also listens to other Afrobeats artists such as Asake, Fireboy, Davido and more.

During a recent conversation with comedian Basketmouth, the Consul General, Will Stevens was posed with the question of naming his favorite Afrobeats artiste and he promptly named Tems.

He commended Tems’ distinct vocals, acknowledging that he felt a sense of euphoria while listening to her music.

Will Stevens stated:

My favourite Afrobeats artist? It got to be Tems. That voice… I got a little bit of a crunch just listening to her. And on the Black Panther, when she sings ‘No Woman, No Cry’ by Bob Marley. She is incredible.”

Apart from Tems, the Consul General stated that he also tunes in to the sounds of other Afrobeats musicians like Asake, Fireboy, Davido and many more.

“I have met a bunch of Nigerian artists; Fireboy, Asake, Davido. I haven’t met Burna Boy but they are great guys. Wonderful people. I know Nigerian artistes and I jam to them a little bit. But Tems is the one that I can just tune in anytime,” he added.

In another story, Tyla reveals how Tems opened doors of global recognition for African female artists .

In a recent interview with Kiss Fresh UK, Tyla confessed that collaborating with Tems on her debut album was an absolute delight, citing Tems’ extraordinary talent and great energy.

According to Tyla, Collaborating with Tems was an incredible experience, noting that her talent knows no bounds.

She said :

Working with Tems is amazing. She is so talented. She is literally a force. I’m so honoured to have worked with her. She has opened so many doors for us (young African female artists).”

Tyla and Tems joined forces on the hit single “Number 1” from Tyla’s self-titled debut album, released earlier this month.

Tyla gushed about their collaboration, saying, “We made such a beautiful song with such a beautiful message. It is a song for the girls and it is made by the girls.”
