- TolaniBaj has again made headlines with a comment she recently made.
- The controversial reality TV star turned podcast host was on a recent interview where she spoke about inspiring J Hus and Drake’s song.
Big Brother Naija Reality Show star cum disc jockey, Tolani Shobajo, simply known as TolaniBaj, has recalled her controversial comment about men dancing in clubs.
She claimed that her remark about how men shouldn’t dance in clubs inspired British rapper, J Hus’ song, ‘Who Told You Bad Man Don’t Dance’, featuring Canadian rapper, Drake.
She made the claim in a recent interview on Clout Radio.
TolaniBaj explained that men can dance, but “respectfully.” In her words:
“I am a DJ, people can dance. Everybody can dance. You guys are still owing me from the tweet [that men shouldn’t dance in clubs].
“I tweeted it years ago. Can I breathe? I even inspired J Hus’ song, ‘Who Told You Bad Man Don’t Dance.’ TBaj told y’all.
“Men can dance, they can legwork but respectfully. Because if you’ve a babe, you can’t be embarrassing her like that.”
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls in March, 2023, TolaniBaj hoped that men would cease dancing in clubs and instead choose to sit and act like big boys.
According to her, whenever she sees guys dancing in the club, she simply gets turned off. The former BBNaija housemate tweeted:
“I get turned off when a guy dances in the club. Like sit down and pretend to be a big boy.”
In April, following heavy criticism that trailed her tweet, TolaniBaj on the BTS Reality audiovisual podcast explained what she meant. She clarified:
“I feel like that tweet was misinterpreted. And that’s because I was the messenger. I feel like a lot of people understood what I meant but they chose to misunderstand me.
“If you are going to go to the club, I’m not saying you shouldn’t try to dance or be cool but why are you doing like this [dancing aggressively] and being the center of attraction?.”
“I would rather you sit down and admire your girl, the girl you came with let her dirty grind on you or something.”
