Nollywood actor Jide Awobona has shared personal experience with his domestic staff, urging his colleagues to establish clear boundaries with them.
Taking to his instagram page, the actor advised his fans against applying emotions in their relationships with their domestic staff.
Jide Awobona recounted how he had overlooked several incidents of theft by his staff, thinking they would eventually change. However, when one of his staff stole $100 from his wallet, he realized the importance of setting boundaries.
He wrote:
“I think it’s high time we stopped applying emotions in relating with our domestic staff, when they steal as small as chewing gum like this new one did, take it up (though I didn’t, but gage warning) that’s how I overlooked a lot until the previous one stole $100 from my wallet after several Nairas I thought I misplaced or spent, thinking it will transform his life. KO SI BI WON SE MA SE EBOLO.

“LET THEM DO THE JOB THEY ARE MEANT TO DO, GET PAID AND MOVE , DON’T MALTREAT THEM.
THOUGH WE GO AS FAR AS GIVING CLOTHES, FOOD AND ALL, BUT DON’T APPLY EMOTIONS , I REALISED THEY DON’T LOVE YOU AS MUCH AS YOU LOVE THEM OR TRY TO LOVE THEM”.
Few months ago, Actor Jide Awobona opened up on how his wife was robbed at gunpoint in Lagos.
According to him, his wife who he addressed as Mrs A, was threatened with a gun but she pleaded with the robber who later took her phone. Jide Awobona wrote:
“Mrs A was robbed on third mainland bridge today, she was flashed a gun and was threatened to be killed if she doesn’t drop all her money and other stuff, but as per God, sharp babe and Ijebu woman wey she be she pleaded to give them 1k from the 3k in her wallet, that she needs to get fuel (truly, reason she rolled down to save fuel), after a while, the same guy came back again for her phone as she was still in traffic.
“Let’s all be careful out there, nowhere is safe anymore, and please sir @jidesanwoolu do all you can in your power to ensure the security and safety of lives and property in Lagos State @nigerianpoliceforce @nigeriapoliceforce. Thank you”.
