- Davido and his baby mama, Sophia, are locked in a fiery custody battle over their daughter, Imade, and now, her uncle Dele Momodu has thrown gasoline on the flames.
- Momodu dropped bombshells about the chaotic saga, confessing his jaw-dropping astonishment when he learned that Davido had audaciously filed an affidavit in court, dramatically claiming he’s been shut out from Imade’s life
Dele Momodu, the legendary journalist and Ovation Magazine publisher, has blown the lid off the raging legal battle between his niece, Sophia Momodu, and her high-profile baby daddy, Afrobeat superstar Davido.
In a sensational Instagram post on Saturday, July 6, Momodu spilled the tea, revealing his utter disbelief at Davido’s latest court antics. The Afrobeat icon had brazenly filed an affidavit, claiming he’s been cut off from his daughter, Imade – a move that left Momodu slack-jawed with shock.
Momodu revealed that despite Davido’s claims, the singer and his family have had unrestricted access to Imade. When Davido decided to stop paying for Imade’s school fees, Momodu said he alerted Davido’s father, Deji Adeleke, who not only settled all the school fees but also gifted the child a car.
The politician went on to disclose that the real bone of contention was Sophia and Imade’s accommodation payments.
According to him, Sophia proposed that Davido should cover the full amount while she paid half the rent. However, Davido shot down this proposal, offering to pay only N5 million per year, a figure that fell far short of Sophia’s expectations.
His words:
“Sophia allowed David access to their daughter, provided she has her nanny around 24/7. The 9-year-old herself made this request, and I believe this should be favourably considered and accepted. My grand-niece had been released to go out with her cousins on several occasions.”
Momodu also shed light on how Imade spent ample time with Davido’s family. He said the only instance when Sophia didn’t release Imade was when Davido’s father wanted her to accompany them abroad.
The ovation magazine publisher highlighted that Sophia had already booked a flight with her daughter for another event, which led to this singular clash in their otherwise cooperative arrangement.
