Bovi reacts to viral clip of content creator destroying husband’s passport

Comedian and actor Bovi has joined in reacting to a viral video showing a woman tearing her husband’s passport.

The video features Favour Igiebor, a content creator, tearing her husband’s passport at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos. The incident, which occurred on Sunday, has sparked widespread discussions.

Mrs Igiebor shared a follow-up video on Monday, explaining her actions. She revealed that her family has been dealing with longstanding issues since their return to Nigeria from Europe. In the video, she said:

“This issue has been going on for a long time. And I have to do what I did. Don’t just look at my actions alone. I’m not a mad woman. I have gone through so many things. I have my own reasons.”

Bovi, however took to Instagram on Monday to share a picture of himself protecting his passport. The comic wrote:

“E get Wetin go happen to person own, you go start to value your own more. Never to leave my sight!!”

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) said it has launched an investigation into the incident at Lagos airport.

According to a statement released on Sunday, the NIS said it summoned Mrs. Igiebor for questioning. The statement read in part:

“The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has launched a formal investigation, following the circulation of a video on social media showing a female traveler destroying a Nigerian Standard Passport at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos. The individual involved has been identified as Mrs. Favour Igiebor,”
