- Debbie Shokoya has welcomed a baby girl.
- The actress’s colleagues have stormed her social media page to congratulate her on the good news.
- This comes hours after another actress, Tawa Ajisefini birthed a baby boy in the US after 5 years of waiting to conceive.
Nollywood has again been thrown into a frenzy following the news of Debbie Shokoya birthday a baby girl.
Her colleague in the Yoruba subset of Nollywood, Tawa Ajisefini welcomed her own baby boy hours ago.
This news particularly hits differently because Debbie Shokoya had suffered a miscarriage in 2023 when she was 8 months gone.
The news that Shokoya welcomed her baby girl with her husband was made known by her colleague, Seiilat, who shared a photo of the pregnant movie star and a caption expressing gratitude over the birth of her child.
She noted how she had been waiting to post the photo while congratulating the new mum. She captioned her post:
“We are so grateful. Been waiting to post this particular one. Congratulations my love. Kisses to our mini Debbie”.
Actress, Nkechi Blessing also took to her Instagram page, to congratulate the new mum on her bundle of joy. Sharing the same maternity photo, she wrote:
“Oh Lord Jesus, you do this one ooo. Big big congratulations on the arrival of your bundle of joy. Ore kanka Olorun a dupe”.
Biola Bayo in her post shared a detailed video of the mum’s pregnancy journey, with the clip ending where Debbie Shokoya was wheeled out of the theatre while cuddling her baby girl in her arms. Biola Bayo wrote:
“YES!!! IT’S RAINING BABIES NOW 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
Thank you Abba father, you have made us forget the pain of the past. All glory to God.
Congratulations to Ajijolajusu and hubby @debbie_shokoya
I rejoice with you guys and pray that your joy will be permanent in Jesus name.
No more loss!
To every waiting parent, I pray God Almighty will wipe away your tears and give you great joy.

In August 2023, Debbie Shokoya in an emotional video on her Instagram page, tearfully recounted how she lost her pregnancy at 8 months.
In December, she again reflected on her pregnancy loss, noting how many pregnant women die with their child in their womb, and some died after giving birth.
Debbie stated that though her loss didn’t go as planned, it went as God planned and she was grateful. Earlier this year, Debbie Shokoya released a movie she dedicated to her child with a touching note. She noted how some pain never goes away, they become part of the person.
