‘I’m not afraid to start all over’ – Chinwe hints at break up with Zion

Former Big Brother Naija contestant Chinwe has shared her thoughts on her relationship with her partner Zion.

In a recent conversation with Hero Daniels, she addressed Zion’s comments about having dated women who fit his preferred type, which some perceived as dismissive of Chinwe.

Chinwe clarified that Zion’s statements were misunderstood, explaining that his boasts about dating foreign women were not intended to diminish her. However, she acknowledged that his words were hurtful and unnecessary.

When asked about the potential impact on their relationship, Chinwe expressed a willingness to move forward, stating that she is not afraid to start anew if necessary.

Chinwe said : “Zion said some things he shouldn’t have said. People misunderstood his statement about me not being spec. He has dated white girls and other girls deemed to be his spec, with me.. It’s different.

“It was like a brag, Zion saying he dated foreign girls and that I’m not his spec,” she said.

The host, Hero, asked: “Are you afraid of your relationship with Zion?”

Chinwe replied: “I’m not afraid to start all over.”

Chinwe had earlier stated in another interview that they didn’t expect the level of scrutiny the public had on their relationship .

Chinwe noted that while they anticipated some misunderstandings, they did not expect the severity of criticism directed towards their relationship.

Zion also shared similar sentiments, emphasizing that they understand the dynamics of their relationship, but the public’s serious reaction caught them off guard.

The duo’s comments highlight the challenges of navigating public opinion and the blurring of lines between personal and public life, especially in the context of reality TV shows like Big Brother Naija.

Chinwe said:

We came out to some shocking revelations. Based on the conversations we had, misunderstandings were part of the game. But coming out, opinions were formed as well and based off those opinions, we didn’t really expect that level of criticism towards the relationship.”
