How Asake recorded his verse on ‘Bandana’ on tour bus – Fireboy

  • Fireboy has opened up on the relationship with his colleague, Asake in a recent interview.
  • The singer gushed about how talented and versatile Asake is, so much so that he easily recorded his verse while in a tour bus.
  • Fireboy also shared how they’ve had a longstanding relationship from their undergraduate days in university.

Nigerian singer and songwriter Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan, known professionally as Fireboy DML has expressed his admiration for his colleague and record label mate, Asake.

Both singers are signed to rapper Olamide’s YBNL nation record label.

Fireboy eulogised Asake’s talent and energy. He revealed that Asake recorded his verse on their 2022 collaborative hit song ‘Bandana’ in a tour bus.

Speaking in an interview with Ebro, Fireboy said their synergy on the song was due to their long-standing working relationship dating back to their undergraduate days at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife. In Fireboy’s words:

“Our record label [YBNL] boss, Olamide, advised me to feature Asake on ‘Bandana.’ We sent it to him. He recorded that song on his tour bus. It was quick. The energy was insane.”

“Asake is someone I’ve known since way back. We went to the same university. He has a very crazy personality.”

“He’s a born star. We had that synergy from way back in school. We had similar struggles. We went through almost the same journey.”

In other news, Nollywood actress Ufuoma McDermott has opened up on the life challenging moment she has been battling for the past twelve years.

Sitting with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Ufuoma McDermott disclosed how she lost her younger brother to chronic kidney disease and how she herself was diagnosed with the same ailment.

In 2023, the actress was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease after battling with it for over twelve years. And recently, Ufuoma McDermott was diagnosed with the 4th stage of the disease which is the final stage.
