Popular Nigerian musician, Shallipopi, has officially parted ways with the Dapper Music record label, ending the partnership that helped propel him to stardom in 2023.

The news, which had been circulating as a rumor for some time, was recently confirmed when Shallipopi made changes to his social media presence.

He removed the name of Dapper Music from his bio and unfollowed the label’s boss, signaling the end of their collaboration.

This development follows Shallipopi’s announcement earlier this year of the launch of his own record label, Plutomania Records.

The new label is already making waves with rising talents like Zerry DL and Tega Boi, who are signed as the first artistes under the brand.

Within Nigeria also reports that Shallipopi’s separation from Dapper Music comes just a couple of months after another notable artiste, Seyi Vibez, similarly parted ways with the label.

In similar news, Nigerian singer Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, aka Seyi Vibez, has reportedly gone separate ways with his distribution company boss who is also Hilda Baci’s fiance, Dapper, marking the beginning of his solo music career.

Seyi Vibez, who has triggered rivalry between himself and his colleague Asake, has remained one of the promising talents in the Nigerian music scene.

A check on Seyi’s Instagram account shows he has unfollowed the record label boss, Damilola Akinwunmi aka Dapper, deleted all the pictures on his profile and changed his bio to ‘Independent artist’.
