Afrobeats artist Mayorkun has shared a pivotal moment in his life that significantly impacted his career trajectory.
During a recent performance at the TraceLive x Tiger Beer concert in Lagos, Mayorkun reflected on his first meeting with Davido.
He expressed gratitude for the platform Davido provided, allowing him to showcase his talent and connect with a wider audience.
Mayorkun acknowledged the significant impact Davido had on his life and career, stating that their encounter changed his life. He also appreciated the support of his fans, who have been instrumental in his journey.
He said:
“I came into this world just like every other person”, he began in a soft tone “but God gave me a gift on my way here. On my way to fulfill my destiny, I met a man called Davido and everything changed. Now, I have the opportunity to meet far more people than I can ever imagine. I’m about to take you guys on a journey – how it all started and how it’s going. My name is Mayorkun, The Mayor Of Lagos!”
In 2016, Mayorkun’s cover of Davido’s track “The Money” caught the attention of the renowned artist, leading to a life-changing encounter.
Mayorkun’s journey to stardom began when Davido discovered him on social media and subsequently signed him to his record label, DMW.
This opportunity led to the release of Mayorkun’s debut single, “Eleko,” which gained widespread popularity and earned him recognition as the Next Rated artist at The Headies in 2018.
I’m another news, Mayorkun reacts as Teni boldly shoots marriage shots at him.
A viral Instagram photo captured Mayorkun alongside Davido and Chioma. In a video shared by the Case crooner, Teni unabashedly declared her intention to tie the knot with Mayorkun soon.
Her video had Mayorkun doubled over with laughter, as he took to her comment section to chuckle heartily at her cheeky marriage proposals.
“Teni you no go Kee me”
