Nigerian film actress cum movie producer Iyabo Ojo has made a shocking revelation about her childhood, amongst other things.
In an interview with her colleague Biola Bayo on the Talk to B podcast, Iyabo Ojo revealed that she was raped 5 times.
Due to her ordeal, the mother of two stated that there are many rape apologists and she would never support them, including her son, if he were accused. She said:
“I was raped five times in my life. I discovered we have a lot of rape apologists. I don’t care who the person is; if that person is my son, I am going to come for him unapologetically.”
Speaking on her background, Iyabo Ojo revealed she was brought up by her grandmother, who was half Delta and Igbo. She only ever got to know her absentee biological mother around age 7.
The mother of two also spoke briefly about her father. She disclosed that he died before 50 years old and indulged in a lot of vices, including alcohol and hard substances.
The filmmaker who is set to make her cinema movie debut in March 2025 added that her dad disowned her when she insisted on getting married to her late husband.
Her late husband, Ademidun Ojo, is father to Priscilla and Festus Ojo. The marriage packed up shortly after the birth of their two children. In her words:
“The only time I lacked was when I insisted this was the man I was going to get married to because, at that time, my dad and I disowned each other.
My dad did everything, alcohol and drugs, so it messed him up at a young age. He died at 49.
I grew up with my grandmother, who is half Delta and half Igbo. I think I was seven before I knew my mother”.
Speaking about Naira Marley and late Mohbad’s case, Iyabo Ojo said that she has never met Naira Marley in person. She mentioned that Mohbad’s father said he needed a DNA test and that Wunmi has agreed to do one, however, Mohbad’s father also has his condition attached to it.
Also speaking on her feud with her colleague, Lizzy Anjorin, she claimed it was because she was accused of having a hand in late Mohbad’s death. Iyabo Ojo restated that she dragged Lizzy to court and is not ready to settle out of court. She added that someone was trying to ensure the case was settled amicably, but for her, 2025 is a year of ‘fight to finish’.
The moviemaker, then gushed about her soon-to-be son-in-law, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, who she said is well raised and the reason she accented to their relationship. She restated that the singer will soon be tying the knot with her influencer daughter, Pricilla Ojo but didn’t disclose the date and month it will take place.
