  • VeryDarkMan’s NGO, which has already made headlines for everything from his controversial N180 million prank to massive donations, found itself under intense scrutiny after a petition was filed with the EFCC to investigate its operations.
  • The activist, known for his bold online presence, fearlessly confronted the allegations, daring both the EFCC and the petitioners to bring the case forward.

Nigerian online crusader and humanitarian Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has fiercely responded to growing suspicions of fraud surrounding his NGO.

VeryDarkMan’s organization has been the subject of controversy for some time, with critics continuously questioning the transparency of his operations. Many have raised eyebrows over the substantial funds he has amassed through donations, wondering when he would finally put the money to good use. Meanwhile, others have gone as far as accusing him of attempting to defraud Nigerians of their hard-earned money.

In a dramatic twist, whispers began circulating that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, had quietly launched an investigation into VeryDarkMan’s NGO.

The investigation was allegedly spurred by a petition filed by a concerned Nigerian who demanded to know the truth behind the flow of donations to the organization.

The petition letter reads in parts:

“REQUEST FOR THE INVESTIGATION INTO FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES BY Martin. Vincent Otse (AKA Verydarkman). I write to request an urgent investigation into the fundraising activities of Mr. Martin Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, who raised over N202 million through Zenith Bank account 1313679008 (Martins Vincent Otse Initiative) for purported school renovation projects without transparency or accountability.”

In response to the mounting speculation and allegations, VeryDarkMan took to his platform, releasing a no-holds-barred video where he fired back at his critics and the EFCC.

Unapologetically confident, he asserted that he had nothing to hide and that his NGO was completely above board, free from any fraudulent activity.

He took it a step further, accusing the EFCC of harboring a personal vendetta against him. Citing his past run-ins with the agency, particularly the drama involving Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky, VeryDarkMan claimed that the EFCC had been “witch-hunting” him for weeks, using his NGO as a scapegoat for their unresolved issues.
