- Reports had surfaced that Sea King was arrested for making disparaging remarks about Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
- The news sent shockwaves through social media, igniting debates about free speech, respect for religious leaders, and the boundaries of criticism.
- In a dramatic twist, the revered cleric, rather than calling for punishment, ordered Sea King’s immediate release, declared that the content creator is simply fulfilling prophecy.
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has taken a bold and expected stance by calling for the immediate release of detained TikTok content creator Ogunsanwo Olumide John, popularly known as Sea King.
Sea King, known for his controversial takes, found himself at the center of a firestorm after a viral TikTok video where he launched a scathing attack on Pastor Adeboye.
In the clip, he branded the revered cleric as “very stupid and foolish” for imposing a rigorous 100-day fast on his congregation. His words ignited outrage among many followers of the faith, culminating in his arrest.
However, in a dramatic turn of events, a trending video surfaced on Saturday, February 8, showing Pastor Adeboye addressing the issue with an air of detachment and surprising magnanimity.
Speaking with a calm authority, he clarified that he had no hand in Sea King’s arrest, said it was his enraged followers who took matters into their own hands, acted on his behalf without his direct involvement.
Rather than fueling the flames of retribution, Pastor Adeboye called for Sea King’s immediate freedom.
His reasoning went beyond personal offense, he declared that the young man was merely fulfilling prophecy.
Adeboye said;
“I heard that there was someone who lambasted me thoroughly; was my offense? because I asked my people to fast for 100 days, I didn’t ask him o. I didn’t ask anybody who is not a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to fast. Only my children. But God said that it will happen.
“I was told that some people got so angry and they went and arrested the fellow. Ha, release him, he is fulfilling prophecy.”
