Nigerian social media commentator, Verydarkman (VDM), has weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable.
WITHIN Nigeria previously reported that Portable surrendered to the police after being declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command.
Authorities had accused him of leading a violent attack on government officials carrying out their duties.
Following the declaration, Portable claimed he was facing a spiritual attack, pleaded for divine intervention, and stated that he had been hospitalized for days. He also begged for mercy for the sake of his children.
However, while some supporters have urged the government to show leniency, Verydarkman has taken a firm stance against the singer’s actions.
The outspoken critic shared videos of Portable’s past violent confrontations, including altercations with DJ Chicken, a preacher outside his bar, and a man at Fela’s Shrine.
VDM condemned Portable’s repeated misconduct and insisted he must be held accountable. He also criticized the singer’s fans for enabling his behavior by making excuses for him.
“Portable should actually go down for this, and to all of you begging the government on his behalf, watch this. If you still feel he should be pardoned, then no problem. KARMA CAME ALREADY,” VDM wrote.
