Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late Nigerian musician Mohbad, has publicly addressed the challenges she faces after her husband’s passing.
In a recent appearance on TVC’s Your View, Omowunmi shared her experiences with bullying and the controversy surrounding her son’s paternity.
Omowunmi alleged that her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, has been bullying her and turning people against her.
She shared that she is the most bullied widow in Nigeria.
Omowunmi stated that she has no problem with carrying out a paternity test on her son with Mohbad, but doesn’t like the way her father-in-law is going about it.
She said:
“I have nothing to hide. I don’t have an issue with my father-in-law asking me for a DNA test, but it’s the way he is going about it. Presently, I am the most bullied widow in Nigeria.”
Omowunmi disclosed that she and her father-in-law were once very close. She also recalled that he had pressured her and her late husband to start a family before they felt ready.
Recall that Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was initially buried by his father less than 24 hours later.
Mohbad was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s “Marlian Records” but departed from the label in 2022. He had gained widespread recognition for his hit singles such as “Ponmo,” “Feel Good,” and “KPK (Ko Por Ke)” in collaboration with Rexxie.
Mohbad had accused his former record label boss, Naira Marley on social media of ordering his goons to beat him up.
Shortly after the incident, he left the record label.
The controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death and burial has been ongoing, his body was subsequently exhumed for an autopsy, the results of which are still pending.
Joseph Aloba has stated that he will only re-bury his son’s body once the autopsy results are released and a DNA test is conducted on his grandson, Liam.
