- The international acclaim is yet another milestone Davido has achieved.
Grammy Award nominee, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has received international recognition from the royal family.
The Nigerian singer has been named as one of the featured artistes on British monarch King Charles III’s music playlist.
The monarch unveiled his eclectic musical tastes in a new Apple Music show, The King’s Music Room, recorded in his Buckingham Palace office.
The playlist spans disco, reggae, and Afrobeats and features artistes from across the Commonwealth, including Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, Davido, and Raye.
The show is set to air next Monday in commemoration of Commonwealth Day.
The King, who is Head of the Commonwealth, described the playlist as the soundtrack of his life. Charles III said:
“Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. I know that is also the case for so many others.
“So this is what I particularly wanted to share – songs which have brought me joy.
“This seemed such an interesting and innovative way to celebrate this year’s Commonwealth Day.”
Away from commonwealth, but still on music recognition, social media commentator Radiogad has made a surprising turnaround, publicly declaring his unwavering support for Davido after previously being accused of constantly attacking the singer.
Following a heated online exchange where Davido lashed out at him, Radiogad took to his social media page to shower praises on the Afrobeats star.
In a dramatic shift, he described Davido as “the most hardworking artiste in the history of Nigerian entertainment” and “the most consistent artiste ever.”
He went further to predict that Davido’s upcoming fifth studio album would be the “biggest album ever” and “break boundaries,” pledging his full support for the singer and his 30BG fanbase.
Radiogad also admitted that his previous social media attacks and negative review of the 5ive album was merely a strategy to grab Davido’s attention because the singer had never noticed him.
