- DJ Cuppy has taken to social media to respond to fans labelling her old, sparking a conversation about age perceptions.
- The 32-year-old expressed surprise and concern over being considered old, highlighting how such remarks reflect broader societal attitudes toward age, especially for women in the public eye.
- Her response prompted varied reactions from her audience, with some supporting her stance and others engaging in the ongoing discourse about her personal and professional life.
Popular Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, professionally known as DJ Cuppy, has posed a question to those pressuring her to get married—claiming age is not on her side.
The music star wondered why she was being tagged as “old” at just 32, questioning what people in their 40s would be called.
Cuppy’s tweet, which gained traction through posts on X, showcased her raising concerns about the label. She wrote:
“I am 32 years old, and some of you people are calling me old. If that is the case, what are we calling people in their 40s? Prehistoric? Fossilized? Museum exhibits? Nawa.”
DJ Cuppy’s singleness has been a concern for many netizens, including some of her fans, who never miss the opportunity to quiz or chide her about it.
In February, DJ Cuppy prophesied that the 2025 Valentine’s Day would be the last one she would celebrate unmarried.
She had previously revealed that a 6-footer and a banker is the ideal man she desires.
Her most recent and known relationship was her failed engagement to British boxer Ryan Taylor.
The duo parted ways in July 2023, barely seven months after their shocking engagement in November 2022.

Truthster24 wrote; Even if you’re old, it isn’t a bad or unpleasant thing. Be thankful that you have lived to this old age of yours. Whether those in their 40s are prehistoric or pre-prehistoric, all that matters is that you’re thankful for the old age. It is a good thing. Take joy in it.

DanielRegha wrote; Cuppy u are always letting people get under ur skin with the age and relationship talks; U are simply enabling the trolls by being bothered. People will talk regardless what u say, so pay less attention and focus on what really matters, like the unkept promises u made some years back (to help students thru the Cuppy Foundation).
