Veteran fuji singer, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has voiced his deep disappointment over fellow music legend, Alhaji Kollington Ayinla’s absence at his mother’s burial ceremony.
Speaking candidly during an interview on Agbaletu TV, K1 revealed that he felt betrayed by Kollington, whom he had supported wholeheartedly during a similar moment of loss.
According to K1, he went above and beyond to help Kollington give his late mother a befitting burial, including footing the entire bill and rallying high-profile guests for the event.
“I am so angry with Alhaji Kollington because he never showed up to offer his condolences when I lost my mum. When his own mother passed away, I supported him to give his mum a befitting burial. I brought a lot of dignitaries to the burial for him and I handled all the finances 100%. See how he paid me back,” K1 said during the interview.
K1 further questioned the reason for such a gesture of disregard from someone he once held in high regard, especially as Kollington is currently in good health and based in Nigeria.
“He is in Nigeria, hale and hearty and the only excuse he gave was that he called me and I didn’t pick up. Am I not supposed to be angry?” he added, clearly emotional.
